Krynica Vitamin, one of the largest Polish producers of non-alcoholic, low-alcohol beverages and disinfectants, signed a new contract for the production of tonic-type beverages with Schweppes International Limited, one of the leaders on the European beverage market. The estimated contract value over a period of 5 years is PLN 10.7 million ($2.8m, €2.3m). Krynica Vitamin will provide packaging services for glass bottles which forms a new and promising beverage bottling segment for our Company.
- We established partnership with yet another global brand for which we will be one of only a few suppliers on a global scale. With this contract, we will expand the segment of packaging into glass bottles. The onboarding of Schweppes International Limited was possible thanks to the production of beverages for this global brand on the Polish market. We paved the way, made a name for ourselves, and showed production flexibility. The contract proves trust vested in our high quality and qualifications. Winning over a client that is demanding both in terms of quality and customer service positions Krynica Vitamin as a partner ready to embrace projects which do not compromise on quality. This is yet another step in geographical and product diversification – a key objective of our Company.
Krynica Vitamin commissioned its glass bottling line at the end of 2019. For Schweppes International Limited we will also provide canning services for their beverages in aluminum cans, however, the order value and estimated revenues are not known at this time.
This year Krynica Vitamin will focus on the strengthening of its position on the beverage manufacturing market, and on geographical diversification. There are new beverage formulas in the R&D pipeline, for example “low sugar” ones, i.e. adapted to the sugary drink tax, in addition to other products, like new formulas of skin disinfectants and cosmetics.
Krynica Vitamin reported a preliminary net profit of PLN 56.6 million ($15.3 m, €12.5 m) compared to PLN 7.4 million ($2m, €1.6m) in 2019. This is a massive increase by 655 percent y/y. In 2020 Krynica Vitamin enjoyed PLN 446 million ($119.5m, €98.6m) in sales revenue (up by 50 percent y/y), which is the highest result in the Company’s history. This phenomenal performance resulted from the production and sales of hand disinfectants in Q2 and higher revenues in Krynica Vitamin’s core business throughout last year.
In Q4 revenue from sales surged to PLN 86 million ($23m, €19m), up by 37 percent on the year before. In the reporting period operating profit was PLN 6.2 million (($1.7m, €1.4m, up by 313 percent y/y), while net profit was up by 44 percent compared to the same period in 2019, at PLN 2.1 million ($563k, €464k).
Krynica Vitamin has been growing rapidly. Company products are present in more than 40 countries around the world. Export revenues in 2020 contributed to more than half of the top line, with Germany, United Kingdom, and the US being the main foreign markets.
